Bali Distance Calculator
Realistic drive times between every popular area in Bali. Most online tools underestimate traffic on the south coast — these times are based on what our drivers actually clock, week in and week out.
Pick a starting point and a destination. We'll show realistic 2026 drive times for car and scooter, plus the distance via main roads.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to drive from DPS airport to Ubud?
Roughly 1.5 hours by car in normal daytime traffic — 38 km via the Ngurah Rai bypass and the IB Mantra Bypass. Add 20-30 minutes during rush hours (8am or 6pm) or on Friday afternoons. By scooter the same trip is around 1 hour 15 minutes but it's a long uncomfortable ride for new arrivals with luggage.
How far is Uluwatu from Seminyak by car?
Around 27 km and 50-55 minutes by car in normal traffic via the Tol Bali Mandara. The same trip can stretch to 1.5 hours during rush hour or weekends, when the Bukit highway backs up at the Jimbaran junction. Most cliff-resort guests prefer a private driver round-trip for a sunset dinner at Uluwatu.
Is it faster to ride a scooter or take a car in Bali?
Scooters are faster in dense south Bali traffic (Kuta-Seminyak-Canggu) where they can filter through cars. Cars are faster on longer trips because they hold steady highway speed. Our calculator estimates scooter time at roughly 85% of car time, which is a realistic average — but only if you ride confidently. New riders often take 1.3-1.5x car time and have a much higher accident risk.
What is rush hour traffic like in Bali?
South Bali (Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu, Sanur) sees heavy traffic 8-10am and 5-7pm Monday to Friday. Friday afternoon to Saturday morning is peak going up to Ubud and back, because of weekend villa traffic. Sunday evening is the worst window for returning to south Bali. Our times assume normal daytime traffic — add 20-40% for rush windows.
Are toll roads in Bali expensive?
The only toll road in Bali is the Tol Bali Mandara linking south Bali (Kuta/Sanur/Nusa Dua/Benoa). Toll fees are minimal (Rp 11,500-22,500 / under $2 USD per car) and the road saves 30-45 minutes on cross-south trips. Scooters take a parallel non-toll route at no charge.
Can I use Google Maps for Bali drive times?
Google Maps is generally accurate for north-south trips but consistently underestimates the south Bali coastal strip (Kuta-Seminyak-Canggu) where local traffic patterns are unpredictable. Our calculator uses real-world drive times from drivers who run these routes weekly. For the most accurate live estimate, our private driver dispatch knows current road conditions.
